Join us as we explore Chicago's educational treasures featuring Carl Schurz High School designed by Dwight H. Perkins. Noted by the American Institute of Architects as one of the "150 great places in Illinois," we will tour the Gustav Brand murals in the library as well as the sweeping exterior and landscaped grounds. Historic meets contemporary as we visit both the Ruben Salazar Bilingual Center (1882) and Walter Payton College Preparatory High School (2000). The last stop is the interior and exterior of NEIU's El Centro building, completed in 2014, whose blue and yellow fins are visible from the Kennedy Expressway.
